Provision of micro credit to women associations in Burkina Faso.

Whom

The local organization of the ASAP foundation provides annual micro credit to women associations in the by ASAP supported villages in Burkina Faso. In the women's associations are individual women connected, but the Association holds ultimate responsibility for the refunds to the ASAPfoundation.

Why

Women in Burkina Faso are not rarely relying on themselves. In doing so, they have children, on average, even seven per woman, and for these children is food, hygienic living conditions and education needed. To support life many women have 'un petit commerce ': a business that they are running by themselves to generate revenue. Women in rural areas in Burkina Faso have sufficient knowledge and ideas for such a Petit Commerce: Creating SOAP, the creation of a vegetable garden for the sale of vegetables or buying chickens to sell the eggs. Often they are missing the required money to start their own project. By micro credits get women access to financial resources with which they start a business. Not only the poverty among women is concrete reduced, the living conditions of their children are also improved.

How

The women's associations in Burkina Faso are responsible for the payment of individual women. The women have to keep their arrangements otherwise rotate the women as a whole group for the costs. The authorization of the request by women associations is in the hands of the ASAP representative in Burkina Faso, Desiré Ouattara. The contract will co-sign the resolution by the local mayor. The control of all transactions and loan amortization schedules is in the hands of Jean Francois Milogo. The women associations have their own bank account to which they manage the Fund. They use application forms drawn up by ASAP to credit transactions and to check payments.

Evaluation

The results will be measured on the basis of the repayments by the women. So far all loans are completely repaid.
