School uniforms

Purpose of the project

To increase the number of children attending school.

Where

All the 9 villages were we are active.

Description of the project

In order to get children to school in rural areas, extra motivating factors are needed in comparison with town areas.

Parents are analphabets and look at the school as a burden. They need to pay for the children to attend school and when in school children are not available for work. The lunch program is one of extra motivator, the uniform program complements it. This is an extra motivation for the parents and for the children.

Each child in school will get 2 uniforms which he will use during 2 school years. Uniforms of the last 2 years of primary school are a bit different than for the first 4 years in order to give extra motivation to reach those last 2 years.

Expected results

It is difficult to quantify the impact of this program. However it is part of the projects which will help reach the goal of 80% of children of school age attending school.
