History

historieAfter 40 years of letter correspondence, Hervé Millet decided to visit his penpal Jean Millogo in Burkina Faso in February 1997. During a visit to Jean's place of birth Fina, Hervé noticed that the villagers were in lack of a medical clinic. If they would be able to build one, the government would provide the medical staff: but they were in lack of a great amount of money. Because the clinic was very much needed and a long kept wish of the Fina villagers, Hervé decided to, when back in the Netherlands, raise the funds for it and in September of that same year he returned to Burkina Faso to start the construction of the clinic.

Inspired by the success of this very first project, Hervé and his wife decided to set up more projects. This is how the ASAP Foundation, Association for Small African Projects, found birth in December 1997. Since its founding tens of projects were started and successfully completed in Burkina Faso. The various projects all contribute to the sustainable development of health, education, income and general conditions of life of the villagers in Burkina Faso.

Examples of projects are the construction of schools and water wells, the supply of micro credits and many more. For more information about our projects, please look in the main menu at Projects.

Since 2006 ASAP possesses the CBF quality mark. Ever since 2011 the CBF quality mark has been converted into the CBF Certificate. Currently the foundations runs about 25 projects. We have the intention to make, with your help, these projects successful too.
